Karen qualified as a nurse in 1994 and became our clinical director in 2014. In 2019 she progressed to become our practice director and now leads the team both here at firstvets Bearsden and also at our sister practice, 3 Mile Veterinary Centre in Cardonald.
Karen enjoys all aspects of practice management and still likes to keep up with her nursing skills.
In her free time enjoys music and spending time with her two children.

Sofia Capaldi RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Sofia joined the team in 2020 as a nursing student and became a permanent member of Firstvets in 2021.
Sofia has 2 italian spinone called Otto and Salvo and a ginger cat called Fernando who puts the two dogs in their place regularly.

Victoria Marshall RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Victoria joined the practice in 2015 as a nursing assistant after completing an HND in animal care. She enjoys weight clinics, nutrition and nursing in patients.
She has three dalmations, two cats, five guinea pigs, a hamster and horses. She enjoys horse riding, the cinema, reading, socialising, walking her dogs and travelling.

Registered Veterinary Nurse
Karen qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2001 and joined our practice in November 2016. She particularly enjoys working with geriatric patients and has a special interest in laboratory work.
Karen works alongside our nursing auxiliary Diane in running puppy socialisation classes. She also enjoys mentoring our nursing students.
At home Karen has a Labrador called Miley and an elderly cat called Mardi.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, yoga and of course walking Miley.

Melissa Reeve Rawlings
Patient Care Assistant
Melissa joined the practice in Autumn 2021 as a Patient Care Assistant. She has a college certificate in Principles of Animal Care and is currently completing a college certificate in Veterinary Terminology with the SRUC, and hopes to one day become a Veterinary Nurse.
She has a very handsome Maine Coon cat called Isaac and enjoys swimming and cycling in her spare time.
